har ek baat pe kahate ho tum ki tuu kyaa hai - Mirza Ghalib

har ek baat pe kahate ho tum ki tuu kyaa hai
tumhiiN kaho ke ye andaaz-e-guftagoo kyaa hai

na shole meN ye karishmaa na barq meN ye adaa
koii bataao ki wo shoKh-e-tund_Khoo kyaa hai

ye rashk hai ki wo hotaa hai ham_suKhan ham se
wagarnaa Khauf-e-badaamozii-e-adoo kyaa hai

[rashk=jealousy; ham_suKhan=some who agrees with you]
[Khauf=fear; aamozii=teaching; adoo=enemy]

chipak rahaa hai badan par lahoo se pairaahan
hamaarii jeb ko an haajat-e-rafoo kyaa hai

[pairaahan=dress/cloth/robe; haajat=need; rafoo=darning]

jalaa hai jism jahaaN dil bhii jal gayaa hogaa
kuredate ho jo ab raakh justajoo kyaa hai

ragoN meN dauRate phirane ke ham nahiiN qaayal
jab aaNkh hii se na Tapakaa to phir lahoo kyaa hai

wo cheez jis ke liye ham ko ho bahisht azeez
siwaaye baadaa-e-gulfaam-e-mushkaboo kyaa hai

[bahisht = heaven; azeez = dear; siwaaye = except for]
[aadaa = wine; gulfaam = delicate/like a flower]
[mushkaboo = the smell of musk]

piyooN sharaab agar Khum bhii dekh looN do chaar
ye sheeshaa-o-qadaah-o-koozaa-o-suboo kyaa hai

[Khum = wine barrel, qadaah = goblet, suboo = wine pitcher ]

rahii na taaqat-e-guftaar aur agar ho bhii
to kis ummeed pe kahiye ke aarazoo kyaa hai

[guftaar = speech]

banaa hai shaah kaa musaahib phire hai itaraataa
wagarnaa is shahar meN "Ghalib" kii aabaroo kyaa hai
